Lilyfield Residence
Lilyfield ResidenceWintersun shines bright in a fashion-forward Lilyfield jewel.
Lilyfield Project 01 3000px

The sophisticated saturation of Milanese colour palettes and the bold simplicity of Palm Springs silhouettes were two disparate yet equally strong interior inspirations for Jacinta Woods when designing her own family home. One half of Sydney design firm Woods & Warner, Jacinta deftly pulled on recent travel memories to create a powerfully colour-confident home from a once run-down semi in Lilyfield.

A joyful merging of practicality and style, each room has been designed to optimise space, light and storage opportunities and then wham-bammed with colour and pattern - not just on the walls, but also the joinery, materiality, furniture and art.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and living space is the three-bedroom home’s sparkling jewel, with fashion-forward colour combinations enveloped by deep teal walls and cabinetry. A bespoke island bench in fiery vermilion with a connected glass-topped dining table is the centrepiece of this vibrant space, with a mixture of contemporary and vintage seating options providing another layer of colour. An eclectic salon-hang of art and wall sculpture is the perfect final accessory for this adventurous project.

As is always the case with good design, the star-players need a strong cast, and underpinning this vibrant scene is Fibonacci’s Wintersun terrazzo, which features elegantly elongated Carrara marble pieces in soft, faded greys set within a fresh white base. Only an extremely versatile and elegant flooring could uphold the vivid action atop it, and this full floor of offset-laid tiles not only optimises the feeling of space, but beautifully accommodates the bespoke kitchen joinery and vibrant graphic rug in the living room.
