Extending upon Fibonacci’s mantra - like no other - we are proud to release the first of our textured products, defined by a finish unrivalled in its experiential qualities and emblematic of our commitment to delivering stone that layers a whole new dimension into design-led built projects.
The Graduate has long been one of Fibonacci’s most popular products, so extending its potential was a natural evolution. The Graduate Textured has emerged from a dedication to ensuring our products sit apart in the architectural material market, filling an everwidening niche for stone that looks exceptional and inspires connections between people and place. Sensorial qualities dovetail with aesthetic agility to carry mid-century notes as effortlessly as contemporary ones via a tactility that renders an atmosphere of distinct honesty. Alongside its visual and textural properties, the new textured finish articulates Fibonacci’s sustainability-led ethos, emphasising through its robustness that materials should be designed to live with and wear beautifully over time.
Michael Karakolis, Founder and Director, Fibonacci
“The textured finish is something we have wanted to release for quite some time now,” admits Fibonacci Founder Michael Karakolis. “However, we didn’t want to release it too early, so we intentionally limited it to only a few colours with a degree of ruggedness. The Graduate, currently the only colour available in both honed and textured finishes, felt perfectly appropriate based on its inherent qualities of brutal beauty.”
Considering the endless creative possibilities of terrazzo, a disciplined approach to palette has been employed in The Graduate Textured’s development, ensuring that, when the slab colour is applied on a generous scale, its expressions and material integrity remain and constantly find accord with the surrounding architectural and design elements.
“We wanted to give designers more options not out there already,” explains Michael. A sentiment that The Graduate Textured wholly celebrates.
