When invited by NGV Melbourne Design Week to create a piece of work utilising the waste generated by her practice, architect and multi-disciplinary designer Rosanna Ceravolo created a sculpture inspired by the architecture studio’s sample library, and by extension, the wastage generated by building procurement at large.
Rosanna’s elegant structure of offcuts from Fibonacci Stone’s slab products The Graduate and SoftShell highlight the design industry’s need for a greater focus on the circular-economy yet also, by nature of its materiality, stressed its robustness through references to architectures of bygone eras to remind us of the potential longevity and enduring quality of the work of architects.
Congratulations to Rosanna on this stunning work for By-Product 2021.
