In good design, it’s not always the case that bigger means better. Similarly, small changes can’t always produce big results. However, with the release of Fibonacci's new extra-large terrazzo slabs, what seems like an incremental upsize has created a colossal optimisation to its design potential.

Extra-Large Terrazzo Slab Inspiration

“Our original large format slab offering was 3050x1250x20mm, but we’re always looking for ways to maximise the design potential of our range, and to anticipate market trends. To this end, we created the extra-large terrazzo slab, which, at 3050x1400x30mm doesn’t sound substantially bigger, but it’s actually 60% more product, and that extra 150mm of height and 10mm of thickness has greater benefits than you’d initially anticipate,” says Fibonacci Founder, Michael Karakolis.

Why choose Fibonacci Extra-Large Terrazzo Slabs?

From practicalities, to aesthetics, to the environment, the new extra-large terrazzo slabs have an impressive line-up of benefits:

  1. Value – they are extra wide and extra thick, providing 60% more product at no extra cost
  1. Size - They are the largest format terrazzo slabs available on the market
  1. Durability – they are now even stronger due to their increased size
  1. Liveability – customers are demanding bigger kitchens, and kitchen benches are becoming more multi-use, such as WFH spaces. The average bench width was traditionally 600mm, and island benches were 900mm. Now they’re anything up to 1m or even 1.2m, so these slabs provide more required surface space
  1. Coverage – larger areas can be covered with fewer joins
  1. Economy – you can create two larger benchtops (650mm) from one slab.
  1. Less wastage – less fabrication on site means less overall waste
  1. No need to laminate – the 10mm thicker edge negates the need for lamination, also reducing waste.
  1. Design possibilities – the larger size presents more opportunities for designers to create bespoke pieces for their clients.
